Reel Earth Students Walk the Green Carpet at New Orleans Premiere!

Reel Earth, NOLA, Nov. 1 2008

Reel Earth, NOLA, Nov. 1 2008

On November 1, the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts hosted "Reel Earth: A Green Carpet Event"--the world premiere screening of six powerful short films produced this summer as part of Remedee's Reel Earth program.

Emceed by Philippe Cousteau, the event was an unqualified success with students getting to see their work on the big screen for the first time in front of family, friends and community members.

Our esteemed panel of judges (Cousteau, Jamie Johnson, Ben Goldhirsch, Luisa Dantas, and NOCCA student Dylan Beasley) singled out two films--The Water directed by Troy Tennessee and Going Green directed by Jacie Lemon and Sharett Brooks--as the winners of Best Issue-Driven Film and Best Personal Film, respectively.

Congratulations to the winners and to all of the Reel Earth students who participated--it is an enormous accomplishment to complete a film. You should be as proud as we are!
